Who is reading your blogs or checking out your information online? Two reports show that surfing the Internet and sending personal information to people you do not know could be a problem.
Most sites give users their own webspace where they can write their diaries or post their pictures. The sites encourage users to get their friends to look at their work and to comment(評論)on what are posted on the sites.
Teachers are worried that some children are posting their personal information on websites. This could put them at risk from those who plan to do harm to young people. Teachers are also worried some users think it is OK to use the websites in a way that could get others into trouble.
In a school in Illinois(伊利諾斯州)in the US where some popular sites are used wildly, the school would punish(懲罰)students who posted pictures or information about smoking , drinking and other illegal(違法的)activities on the websites.
The school is now going to encourage its 3,200 students to obey a new rule. The warning is clear. That is, be careful when posting information about yourself such as your age, sex, address and interests on a website that anyone can see.
Another warning about the Internet comes from a report. It shows searchers are leading users to websites that show them spam(垃圾短信)and other dangerous downloads. The words “ free screen savers” were found to be the most dangerous words that people search for.
It is well-known that visiting sites offering free MP3s leave users at serious risk. Spyware(監控軟件)should be installed on their computers. So, happy surfing ,but remember not to get caught in the Net!

Last week we asked our reader a question,“What is the most unforgettable thing you have ever had?” Here are three readers' answers.

Once I was on a weekend hike with my class. The teacher told us to be careful.I fell just as she finished talking and what was worse,my glasses were missing.I can’t see without my glasses! I thought it could be the end of my trip. But everyone said I shouldn’t be so sad and they would help me.Some classmates helped me when I walked and others told me about the wonderful birds and trees they were seeing.Sometimes when you lose something, you might find friends in its place.Later, someone noticed something in my shirt pocket and asked what it was.I touched my pocket.“It must be my glasses!” Everyone laughed.

Later,I found grandfather’s money--inside his books!

Have you ever wondered what goes through your mind when you choose where to sit in a new classroom? Or in a waiting room full of strangers? Or on a bus? Researchers have found out some interesting facts.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, we prefer to sit closer to people like ourselves. Girls sit by girls and boys sit by boys. Adults sit together and young people choose another young person to sit near. But it goes further than this. We even choose to sit near someone who looks like us. People with glasses are more likely to sit near other people with glasses. People with long hair sit closer to other people with long hair.
We seem to believe that people with similar habits or hobbies will share similar attitude and we are more likely to be accepted by people like ourselves or even, we think we may be safer with people who look like us. Sometimes that’s true but it's a pity if we always stick to the same people, the same group. The danger in always staying in our comfort zone (舒適區)is that we just recycle the same opinions, the same tastes and the same ideas. We lose the chance to learn something new, find out about interesting things, hear funny stories and discover difference.?
When we always stick to the same people, how can we ever break down the barriers which prevent us from getting to know people with different ideas? And how can we avoid the ignorance (無知),which too often leads to prejudice (偏見) and even fear? If instead you want to live in a society that opens to changes and new things and different opinions, be the cat among the pigeons.
Move out of your comfort zone. Go and sit next to someone different. And don't just sit there in silence. Say hello. Ask a question. Start a conversation. That’s how we make friends. That’s how we learn about people. That’s how we open our minds to new ideas. That's how we live an exciting life.
【小題1】From the passage, we know that people prefer sitting by someone who

A.is like themselves
B.has a sense of humor?
C.is open-minded
D.lives an exciting life
【小題2】People like staying in their comfort zone because they may
A. remain comfortable and special
B. be accepted easily and feel safe
C. find out more interesting things
D.discover differences among themselves
【小題3】What is the purpose of the passage?
A.To tell us just to be ourselves in social life.
B.To introduce ways to learn about the world.
C.To explain how people communicate with others.
D.To encourage us to meet people of different kinds.
