     About five hundred years ago, an earthquake (地震) happened in a small village. Luckily for them, nothing
was destroyed (毀壞) and no one was hurt. But a huge stone fell from a nearby mountain and stopped in the
middle of the road.
     When the earthquake stopped, many people came to the road and saw the stone. Some of the strongest men

　　Well, that’s exactly how I felt．On a Saturday morning last autumn．I had gone to town to do some shopping and as I was on my way home to the shop,it suddenly began to rain．I at once rail into a nearby phone box since I didn’t have an umbrella．It was raining so heavily that I have to stay in the phone box until it stopped．

　　A few moments later,I saw a young man walk up to the phone box,wearing a yellow raincoat and holding a box．I didn’t want to go out into the rain,so I picked up the phone and pretended I was talking to someone．I thought the man would go away,but he didn’t．He just waited in the pouring rain,watching me wave my hands about and act as if I was deep in conversation．

　　“Oh, I don’t want to use the phone,”he replied．smiling．“I’ve just come to repair it．It’s out of order．you see” I felt myself go bright red in the face and I hurried away with my head down,feeting a complete fool．That was certainly one of the most embarrassing moments of my life!

       Michael Forster was a young film produce (制作人), He wanted a famous actress (女演員), Sarina Chan,
to act in his next film. However, Sarina always chose her films very carefully and worked only with famous
people.
       Michael was not at all famous. In fact, he was still planning his first film. He knew it would be hard to
